1. Statement of Commitment

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Lonsite has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chains.

Lonsite has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in all its forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking.

We are committed to acting ethically, transparently, and responsibly in all business dealings and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard workers and prevent exploitation.

2. Our Business and Structure

Lonsite is a labour-only construction recruitment agency and provider of labour subcontract packages, supplying temporary and agency workers to construction and infrastructure projects across the UK.

Our operations are managed from our head office in England. We do not deliver construction works directly; however, we provide labour subcontract packages and labour-only personnel, and recognise that labour supply chains present inherent modern slavery risks that must be actively managed.

3. Governance and Responsibility

Overall responsibility for preventing modern slavery within Lonsite sits with the Managing Director, supported by senior management.

This policy statement is reviewed annually and forms part of Lonsite’s wider Integrated Management System, alongside our Health & Safety, Equality, Ethical Conduct, and Whistleblowing policies.

4. Risk Assessment and High-Risk Areas

As a labour-only supplier, Lonsite recognises that its primary modern slavery risks relate to:

  • Recruitment and placement of agency workers
  • Right-to-work and identity verification
  • Vulnerable individuals entering the construction workforce
  • Supply chain and third-party service providers

We adopt a risk-based approach focused on processes and indicators of vulnerability, rather than geographic or demographic profiling.

5. Policies and Controls

Lonsite operates a suite of policies designed to prevent modern slavery and protect worker welfare, including:

  • Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy
  • Recruitment and Selection Policy
  • Right-to-Work Verification Procedures
  • Whistleblowing Policy
  • Code of Business Conduct
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy
  • Anti-Bribery and Ethical Procurement policies

These policies set clear expectations for employees, workers, and suppliers.

6. Recruitment and Labour Supply Controls

Lonsite operates robust recruitment processes to reduce the risk of exploitation, including:

  • Verification of identity and right-to-work documentation for all workers
  • Ensuring individuals retain control of their own documentation
  • Objective assessment of competence and suitability for roles
  • Clear communication of terms, conditions, and pay
  • Compliance with National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage requirements

We will not knowingly engage or place any individual where there is evidence of coercion, control, or exploitation.

7. Supply Chain Due Diligence

Lonsite expects all suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to uphold the same ethical standards.

We undertake proportionate due diligence prior to onboarding suppliers and require confirmation that:

  • Modern slavery is not present within their business or supply chains
  • They comply with applicable employment and labour laws
  • Workers are paid at least the applicable legal minimum wage

Our terms of business include modern slavery compliance clauses, and we reserve the right to terminate relationships where breaches are identified.

8. Training and Awareness

Lonsite is committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks.

  • Employees involved in recruitment and labour supply receive modern slavery awareness training
  • We provide access to recognised resources, including the Modern Slavery Helpline and external awareness tools
  • Workers are encouraged to report concerns without fear of reprisal

Training and awareness are reviewed periodically to ensure continued effectiveness.

9. Reporting and Whistleblowing

Lonsite encourages the reporting of any concerns relating to modern slavery or human trafficking.

Concerns can be raised through:

  • Line management
  • The Company’s Whistleblowing procedure
  • External reporting routes, including the Modern Slavery Helpline

All reports are taken seriously, investigated appropriately, and handled confidentially.

10. Effectiveness and Performance Monitoring

The effectiveness of our approach is monitored through:

  • Recruitment and compliance checks
  • Worker and client feedback
  • Incident and concern reporting
  • Management review

Where risks or weaknesses are identified, corrective actions are implemented.

11. Continuous Improvement

Lonsite is committed to continual improvement in preventing modern slavery.

We will:

  • Review this statement annually
  • Monitor changes in legislation and guidance
  • Engage with clients and industry partners
  • Update controls where risks evolve

12. Approval

This statement has been approved by the Managing Director and will be reviewed annually.
